Solving puzzles in record time
It would be great to see some of these fast solvers and fast typists make a video of themselves solving puzzles especially those who do it repeatedly.

Good luck with that!

I know, lol. I just thought if people could really type that fast they would be glad to show off their "skills". :)

Just Saying
This doesn't happen very often, but the other day I received a puzzle that I had recently completed. What the heck, I thought, let's go. I typed the response in quickly and smoothly, with no hesitation, and I still did not make a record. I guess someone is a faster typist than I am.

I think those record times are mostly bogus.
In some way, these people must be cheating.
When you see a puzzle with an average solve time of 793 secs., and you solve it very quickly, say in 435 secs., and then you see that someone solved it in 83 secs., I simply don't believe that.
It has a distinct odor of fish.

Re: Record Times
Keep playing, Jimmy. Your scores will come down & you'll see that everything's legit here. As far as fast typing goes, that's not a factor for me. I'm a nearsighted senior citizen with no typing skills at all. I rely on a broad range of knowledge. If I can even get 3 or 4 clues up front, that gives me the traction I need to get through to the solution.

If you really want to freak out over scores, go to Cryptograms & check out the records set by someone named Bansaisequoia. Those are beyond belief.

Thanks, Jugl11
I appreciate the way you replied to Jimmy. I thought about replying, but would probably not have been so nice about it. I definitely learned more from you than from Jimmy.

Thanks, Tica!
Very kind of you to comment. Made my day!
