All great suggestions, and I also would like a check puzzle feature. It's frustrating when you just reach the end of your possibilities, and it's still telling you it's not right. One thing that I have done, too, is to try putting a few consecutive words from the quote into Google - with quote marks front and back. Sometimes that will reveal the quote in context.

Default "Ridiculous"?

I don't see anything ridiculous in not being able to find the difference between what the grid says and what it's supposed to say. Where's the error in--Well heck, it can't be copied, so I'll just have to recall it the best I can: "Every time a generation doubles, it halves its internal content. As a race, we've become spiritually dilute."

I think it may be "interior" instead of "internal."

Default Me too

I usually can work out the answer one way or another when I'm stuck, but there are times that I would rather just move on. That typically means just starting a new puzzle, but I would love to be able to see where I've messed up for those times that I've just had enough.

Exclamation Great Idea

Give us the answers when we are completely stumped. It is frustrating not to know where you screwed up.

Unhappy Interesting ...

Throughout this thread (and others), I have noticed that all posters are "junior" members (whatever that means). No observation or response from a "senior" member nor administrator can be found. This no-response/no-action policy seems to extend to the puzzles themselves. Several puzzles have missing clues which were duly reported via the "Comments" section offered upon a puzzles completion. Some of these "error" reports are over a year old but the puzzle continues to have a missing clue.

Default Interesting . . .

I believe a "junior" member is someone who has not paid for a "premium" (ad-free) account. Being a premium member does not confer any special knowledge or privileges. (See http://www.acrostics.org/premium.php .) The comments on the puzzles themselves, I have learned, are not for the purpose of communicating with Admin. These comments will be visible to other members after they have completed the puzzle on which the comment was left. Sometimes Admin will answer a question posed in the Forum, but the best way to get an answer is to use "Contact Us" at the bottom of this window or write to admin@puzzlebaron.com.

I have suggested more than once that there would be more premium members--and the site would make more money--if the membership were not so expensive. $40/year seems high to me. Admin said he would "take this into account."

Default Premium membership

I pay for it because I hated all the ads I had to look at otherwise. It's worth it to me (I use the site every day), but I can understand the wish/need to have a lower fee. Let's hope this materializes in the near future (but I wouldn't hold my breath).

I agree - $40/yr is pricey and the restricted methods of payment only add to the disinclination. I would have hoped that "someone" in Admin would glance at the comments once in a while, inasmuch as its caption mentions "if there's an error..." (how silly of me)
