Sometimes I can play Acrostics with no problems, but once in a while the screen freezes and I either have to wait for it to correct itself, which takes several minutes, or just have to turn the whole thing off, which messes up my records. Anyone else have this problem? I thought it could have been because occasionally I have other things running in the background, but that is not always the case.

This can be caused by a number of things:
1. Your computer may be running too many concurrent processes, and is running low on memory. Try closing any resource-hungry programs that may be running in the background. 2. Your browser may have outdated add-ons or plug-ins. Try temporarily disabling any add-ons or plug-ins and see if this helps. Also try running a full system check for viruses/trojans/malware which may have attached themselves to your computer or browser. 3. Try a different browser - in general Firefox and Chrome work better and faster than Internet Explorer, which even in its newest iteration is bulky and slow. When you're competing for time, a fast web browser can really make an amazing difference. 4. Try an ad-free account - we offer premium ad-free accounts at reasonable prices. Not only do ad-free accounts open up more screen space for each puzzle, but they provide fewer distractions and faster load times. If you'd like to try it to see if it makes a difference I'd be happy to give you a free 48 hour upgrade - just email me at admin@puzzlebaron.com. |
